The master of Russian painting, Viktor Vasnetsov, completed hard work on the painting “God of Hosts” in 1896. The painting depicts a Christian deity, magnified by the Lord of forces. In other sources, his activities are associated with the liberation wars for the benefit of the captive Jewish people.

The story of this mythical hero is found on the pages of the Old Testament. Absolute power is attributed to this God. The general consensus is that Sabaoth is recognized as the sole ruler of the earth, sky and stars.

The same artist depicts him. He writes an omnipotent old man in a radiant, snow-white tunic, whose strong arms are outstretched in an open gesture. Vladyka opens his palms to us, as if communicating the goodness of his intentions. His deep, calm gaze, wise by centuries of experience, does not look at the viewer, but somewhere inside the consciousness of the deity himself. He is at the same time with us and somewhere in his thoughts. His face is surrounded by a sphere with a clearly defined five-pointed star, covered by gray hair strands. In the center of the figure of the sage Vasnetsov marked a large golden circle in which is a young dove.

Apparently, this symbolizes the desire for harmony, purity and peace in the universe. God's environment is rather unusual. Right around it are mythical creatures with the bodies of fiery birds and human heads. They clung closely to the overlord, kissed his shoulders and bowed to the very feet.

The fabulous syrins freeze with an expression of awe on the meek faces. A little far from the center of the canvas we see angelic creatures bowing their faces with a silent bow. One of the angels froze in front of the great Sabaoth, constantly looking at him with admiring eyes, his hands crossed on his chest in the shape of a cross. He seems to trust the deity with all his aspirations.
